HIGH SCHOOL CAREER. Earned three letters at Columbia River High...one as an offensive guard for football coach John O'Rourke and two as a thrower for track coaches Sean McDonald and Meade...won track most improved award as sophomore...junior year placed second in state 3A meet shot put at 57-1...won district shot put title and placed fourth in discus...voted track team captain...first in school for individual track points...awarded certificate of recognition from school district...senior year volunteer shot put coach at junior high...runner-up in the shot put (57-1) and in the discus (164-7) at the state 3A meet...shot put PR is 60-8, which was top prep mark in state senior year...selected for track coaches award...named the Vancouver Columbian's Athlete of the Year for Columbia River High and to same paper's all-region boys track and field team.
