HONOLULU – Washington State University concluded its season-opening weekend by capturing seven of nine matches Saturday during the final day of play at the Weinman Foundation Invitational at the UH Tennis Complex. The Cougars, host Hawaii and Cal State Northridge comprise the three-team event, which features singles and doubles matches, though no team scores were kept. Cougar freshman Michaela Bayerlova was named the winner of the Green Bracket as she went undefeated, winning both of her matches in straight sets. For the day, the Cougars won two of three doubles matches and five of six singles matches.

Things You Need to Know

• During the three-day tournament, WSU players posted a combined 17-3 singles record and 6-3 doubles mark.
• Senior Aneta Miksovska improved to 10-3 in singles this season and Saturday won the 60th singles match of her Cougar career.
• Junior Tiffany Mylonas has won her last 10 singles matches, the longest streak by a Cougar since Trang Huynh won 15 straight in 2016.
• Senior Barbora Michalkova improved her career-long winning streak to six matches.
• Sophomore Guzal Yusupova went 3-0 during the event and improved to 6-0 in singles play this season.
• The Cougars begin dual match play Jan. 20 when they host Idaho at Hollingbery Fieldhouse.
