Ernie Kent announced Thursday.
"To get a player of Carter's caliber at this point in the year is unique and fortunate," Kent said. "He will be a great asset to the team with his ability to shoot the ball and his high basketball IQ. We're excited to have Carter in a Cougar uniform."
Skaggs completed his freshman year at Chipola College in 2016-17, starting two of 30 games played while averaging 7.7 points per game and shooting .421 from the field and .404 from beyond the 3-point arc. A native of Logansport, Indiana, Skaggs earned four letters in basketball, two at Pioneer HS and two at Logansport HS, playing for his head coach, and father, Pat Skaggs. He combined to score 1,587 career points (773 at Pioneer HS and 814 at Logansport), while sinking 252 career 3-pointers. His 252 3-pointers ranked seventh in Indiana state history. During his senior year at Logansport HS (2014-15), Skaggs averaged 16.9 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game, as the Berries compiled a 21-4 record, their best mark since 1961.
