Two WSU golfers are in the top-25 after the first round of the Silverado Showdown.
NAPA, Calif.—Washington State women's golf is tied for ninth with Hawaii after one round of play at the Silverado Showdown, Sunday, at the Silverado Resort and Spa.
WSU (+11, 299) leads in-state rival Gonzaga by two strokes and No. 26 Texas Tech by four stokes. Sitting in first after one round is No. 4 Stanford, which shot 5-under par on the day (283). Fifth-ranked UCLA trails Stanford by just a stroke and is in second place (-4, 284), while host-schools Oregon and Colorado are both tied for third (+2, 290).Â
Freshman Marie Lund-Hansen and senior Cherokee Kim are in the top-25 after the first round. Lund-Hansen shot even par and is tied for 15th (72). Kim carded three birdies and finished the round tied for 21st (+1, 73). Â
Highlighted by an eagle on the front nine, junior Bree Wanderscheid is tied for 52nd after shooting 4-over par through the first round. Junior Alivia Brown and sophomore Madison Odiorne both ended the day tied for 71st (+6, 78).Â
