FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- Washington State's
Brock Eager won the men's 35-pound weight throw Friday night with a lifetime-best distance at the Northern Arizona Tune Up at the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome in Flagstaff, Ariz.
Eager, a redshirt sophomore from Renton, Wash., tossed the weight 66-feet, 8 1/2 inches (20.33m) which is the third-best mark in WSU all-time men's indoor records. Earlier this season Eager had improved his PR from 63-2 3/4 (19.27m) to 65-6 1/4 (19.97m). Eager opened the competition with a throw of 61-4 (18.72m) followed by the PR toss. His final four throws of the night were fouls.

Travis Pickett (Snohomish, Wash.) took third place in the men's weight throw with a mark of 59-8 1/4 (18.19m), just under his PR of 60-1 3/4 (18.33m) thrown at the New Mexico team Invite in Albuquerque last month.
The next competition for the Cougars track and field teams is Feb. 24-25, the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships in Seattle.
