Cougs Through One in Poppy Hills

PEBBLE BEACH, California: The WSU men's golf team is in 16th place after the first round of the Saint Mary's Invitational in Pebble Beach, California. The team scored a collective 302(+18), and sits one stroke behind 15th place UC Santa Barbara (301, +17).
 
Junior AJ Armstrong and sophomore Daniel Kolar are tied for 43rd place with six others, sharing an individual score of 74(+3).
 
Sophomore Nicklaus Chiam marked a 76(+5) in the first round, leaving him tied for 55th with 12 others.
 
Four top-25 teams occupy the top ten, including Stanford(13), Colorado State(21), BYU(24), and Santa Clara(20). Leading the invitational is San Francisco who went -3 for a total of 281.
 
Round 2 will begin with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m., November 6th. Results can be fond on golfstat.com.
