SAN FRANCISCO – After months of work, the Pac-12 office officially announced the women's basketball schedule and television appearances for the upcoming 2017-18 season Monday afternoon. The Cougs and the rest of the Pac-12 begin play Thursday, Dec. 29 with Washington State tipping off at Oregon before heading to Corvallis to face the defending regular-season champion Oregon State Beavers to close out the calendar year on Sunday, Dec. 31.
Â
WSU's game at Oregon State will be the first of 14 for the Cougs on the Pac-12 Networks. Seven of the Cougs nine home contests will be featured on the conference's network with the remaining two being streamed live on Washington State's digital platform.
Â
The Cougs' first Pac-12 Network matchup at home in Beasley Coliseum comes Friday, Jan. 5 when they host Colorado at 8 p.m. Last season, the Cougs and the Buffs faced off three times with WSU taking back-to-back wins in just under one week's time including a 79-78 thriller in the opening round of the 2017 Pac-12 Tournament.
Â
Throughout the season, WSU never has a home stand or a road trip longer than a single weekend as the Cougs alternate their 14 games evenly between Pullman and the rest of the conference. With the unbalanced overall schedule of the Pac-12, the Cougs will only face off against the Los Angeles schools once in 2018 with both USC (Jan. 26) and UCLA (Jan. 28) coming to the Palouse. WSU also only faces the Arizona schools once, both on the road, with the Cougs set to head to Arizona Friday, Feb. 2 and Arizona State Sunday, Feb. 4. Both the UCLA and the Arizona games will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Networks.
Â
Unlike a season ago, the Cougs' rivalry games with Washington will be featured in the same week with WSU hosting the Huskies Wednesday, Jan. 17 before making the return trip to Seattle Sunday, Jan. 21. Both games will be featured on Pac-12 Washington.
Â
As the regular season draws to a close, the Cougs' final road trip sends them to Utah Friday, Feb. 16 and Colorado Sunday, Feb. 18 before finishing the year at home. WSU will host Cal Friday, Feb. 23 before closing out the regular season with Pac-12 Tournament champion Stanford Sunday, Feb. 25.
Â
After the brutal fight for regular season supremacy in the nation's No. 1 conference, the women head to Seattle and Key Arena for the 2018 Pac-12 Women's Basketball Tournament. The championship tournament is scheduled from March 1-4 with every game of the festivities broadcast live on either Pac-12 Network or the ESPN family of networks.
