KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Washington State University men's basketball graduate, Junior Longrus, and rising-senior, Josh Hawkinson, have been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court, recognizing those collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the 2015-16 season, the organization announced Tuesday.

A native of Oakland, Calif., Longrus graduated in May of 2016 with a double major in management operations and accounting. He graduated with a 3.38 grade point average and is a three-time Pac-12 Conference all-academic honoree having earned first team honors as a senior and second team as a sophomore and junior. This past season he played all 31 games for the Cougars and started 14. He averaged 1.8 points and 2.3 rebounds a game. He is currently the team's graduate manager as he's pursuing his MBA at WSU.

A native of Shoreline, Wash., Hawkinson will enter his senior season in 2016-17, majoring in management operations. He currently has a 3.33 GPA and is a two-time Pac-12 all-academic honoree having received first team honors as a junior in 2015-16 and second team as a sophomore. He led the team and Pac-12 in rebounding averaging a double-double with 15.4 points and 11.1 rebounds per game, having started 28 of the 29 games he played in.

The NABC Honors Court recognizes the talents of gifts that student-athletes possess off the court, and the hard work they exhibit in the classroom. In order to be named to the Honors Court, an athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria, which includes; was academically a junior or senior in 2015-16, carried a 3.2 or higher grade points average, and must have been at their current NCAA Division I, II, III or NAIA institution for at least one year.
