PULLMAN, Wash. -- Three exceptional volleyball players have signed National Letters of Intent and will join the Washington State University Cougars volleyball program next season, Cougar Head Coach
Jen Greeny announced Tuesday.
The Cougar volleyball class of 2017 includes Cameron Antoine-Dillon, a 6-0 middle blocker from Calabasas, Calif., Savanah Smith, a 5-11 outside hitter from Roseville, Calif., and Penina (Penny) Tusa, a 5-8 outside hitter from Anaheim, Calif.

Cameron Antoine-Dillon is a 6-0 middle blocker with a 10-4 vertical leap from Calabasas, Calif. As a sophomore she played at Oaks Christian where the team won the league title. The next two years Sierra Canyon High School, for coach Stephanie Wigfall, the Trailblazers won the Gold Coast league title her junior year with a 11-1 record, 24-6 overall. In 2016, repeated as league champions, undefeated at 12-0 with a 28-3 overall record, still competing in the postseason playoffs. Antoine-Dillon led the CIF-Southern Section with a .417 hitting percentage and 100 blocks. She played on the San Gabriel Elite Volleyball Club for coach Kenji Murai. Team tournament successes included runner-up at Las Vegas, third at Colorado Crossroads, 17th at Junior Olympics 17s and tied for fifth at Junior Olympics 16s. Her father, Corey Dillon, was an NCAA record-setting running back at the University of Washington and was a professional player for the Cincinnati Bengals and the New England Patriots, earning a Super Bowl ring and four Pro-Bowl selections. Antoine-Dillon has excelled in Shakespeare competitions and has a 3.5 GPA.
Savanah Smith is a 5-11 outside hitter from Roseville High School in Roseville, Calif., where she earned three varsity letters in volleyball for coach Cindy Simon. The Tigers advanced to playoffs all three years: third round as sophomore, first round as junior and second round and still playing as senior in 2016. All solid all-around player, Smith was selected All-Capital Valley Conference second team in 2015. She played on the Synergy Force Club team for coach Carson Lowden. Smith graduates with a 3.9 grade point average and plans to major in Kinesiology at WSU.
Penina (Penny) Tusa is a 5-8 outside hitter from Long Beach Polytechnic High School where she played for coach Leland McGrath. She was a four-year All-Moore League honoree and named league MVP last year. She led the Jackrabbits to a league championship in 2015 and runner-up finish in 2016. Tusa was named Most Competitive Player of the Year three times, Outstanding Athlete of the Amateur Union and to the Dream Team this season. The Poly team advanced to the 2016 CIF State playoffs and is still competing. She also played on the Mizuno Long Beach 16 Rockstar Club Team coached by Kara Gil. Tusa was named to the Girls' National Champions All-Tournament team, and named Most Competitive Player of the Year. She plans to major in kinesiology at WSU. Her uncle, Hercules Mata'afa, is a defensive lineman on the 2016 Cougar football team.
WSU plays at No. 16 Utah and Colorado this week before returning to Pullman for the final conference matches Nov. 23 versus USC and Nov. 26 versus Washington.
