"Honor the Past. Live the Present. Create the Future."
Washington State Athletics will once again partner with Sterling Bank to host the Third Annual Cougar Legends Weekend, June 7-8, at the Coeur d'Alene Resort and Golf Course, WSU Director of Athletics Bill Moos announced on April 29.
"Three years ago, I charged the Cougar Athletic Fund with creating a premier fundraising event for Cougar Athletics that lived within the three pillars that our department works in: Honor the Past, Live the Present, Create the Future," said Moos. "The Cougar Legends Weekend has become the premier fundraising event for Cougar Athletics and through the great work of my staff; I know this year's weekend will exceed expectations."
The event begins Friday (June 7) evening with a dinner and auction. During the auction each group will have the chance to bid on a Cougar Legend to be a part of its team for Saturday's golf tournament. "We have brought back some of the all-time greats in Cougar Athletics and I know that our fans have truly enjoyed this exclusive opportunity to rub elbows with those greats," said Moos.
Cougar football greats Drew Bledsoe, Jason Gesser, Mike Price and NBA star Klay Thompson are just a few of the legends attending.
Saturday begins with breakfast at the Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course, followed by the tournament, and ending with a dinner Saturday evening.
"We will utilize our different social media sites to release the Legends that will be in attendance so stay tuned. I can say though, that you will truly see the Mt. Rushmore of Cougar Athletics at The Legends," said Moos.
"WSU Athletics has organized an extraordinary event that is sure to be a memorable weekend," said Sterling Bank CEO Greg Seibly. "Sterling Bank is proud to once again be a part of this event, honoring our Cougar Legends and supporting WSU's current student athletes who will be our future Cougar Legends."
