Men's Basketball

Feb. 4, 1914

Washington State College defeated Montana on the road, 71-11, to establish a record for margin of victory that still exists today. Everyone on the roster scored for the Cougars, led by Vic Anderson's 22 points.

The next day, WSC defeated Montana 43-22 to cap a long day for the Crimson and Gray on Montana's campus. A portion of The Daily Evergreen's account of WSC's day is as follows:

. . . afternoon of the second day, a blizzard caught them in the gym and they could not get back to town . . . after the game they were taken back to their hotel in a sleigh.

Women's Basketball

Feb. 6, 1986

The Cougars shoot a record 67 percent (33-of-49) from the field in an 82-60 win over Gonzaga at Pullman. On the strength of a scintillating first half from the floor (22-of-27; 82 percent), WSU shattered the previous record of 58 percent against Idaho State the previous season.

Marcia Miles led WSU with a game-high 31 points on 14-of-16 shooting from the field. Pat Broaden add 19 points for the Cougars.
