Week of Dec. 9-Dec. 15

Dec. 10, 1993
Men's Basketball

Eddie Hill's 18 points led five Cougar scorers in double figures as Washington State improved to 7-0 with a 98-50 victory over Oral Roberts in the first round of the Indiana Classic.

All 11 Cougars made a dent on the scoreboard as WSU used a 33-9 first half run to break the game open. Propelled by a 75.9 shooting percentage in the first half, the Cougars enjoyed a 52-24 lead at the halftime break.

"The key to this game like our other games was we depended on our defense," head coach Kelvin Sampson said. "It's just that tonight we got off good shots and it worked out."

A crowd of 16,730 fans witnessed the game at Assembly Hall, the most fans to see a WSU contest.

Dec. 12, 1995
Women's Basketball

Jade Hyett's free throw with one-tenth of a second to play broke a 71-all tie and gave the Cougars a hard-fought 72-71 win over the Idaho Vandals at Memorial Gym in Moscow, Idaho.

Jenni Ruff paced the Cougars with 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead WSU (5-2) to its fourth straight win.

Hyett's free throw came after she was fouled on a desperation drive with the game clock nearing zero. Hyett missed her first free throw attempt but made the second to secure the win.
