PULLMAN, Wash. - Butch was left wondering what in tarnation hit him as Herbie Husker plowed to a week eight victory in the Capital One Mascot Challenge. Butch faces Baylor's Bruiser in a must-win week nine match-up.

"Though Butch continues his stoic silence about his recent loss to Herbie Husker, he was seen munching on a few bear claws as he prepared to take on Bruiser, that bad news bear from Baylor," said WSU Promotions Coordinator Kathy Lane. "He better bear in mind that Butch plans to bring to bear a few scratches and bruises of his own."

Look for Butch to redefine the meaning of "grin and bear it" as he puts the hurt on Bruiser, the brown bear mascot from Baylor University as the beastly brawl continues through 6 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7.

Butch currently sits in the 11th spot in the overall standings with a record of 3-5-0. The Cougar mascot has just three weekly match-ups left to claw his way back into the top six and advance to the finals of the Capital One Mascot Challenge.
