Apple Cup Tickets for WSU Students on Sale Online Oct. 22

Oct. 19, 2005

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University students wishing to attend the Nov. 19 Apple Cup game at Seattle will have the opportunity to purchase their ticket to the game this Saturday.

Washington State's allotment of 800 tickets for its students will be available for purchase online at the Cougars' athletic website (wsucougars.com) Saturday, Oct. 22 at 12:15 p.m.

Cost for a ticket is $35 and will be on sale on a first-come first-serve basis only to WSU students who possess a student sports pass. Sales are limited to one ticket per student and there will be no refunds on ticket purchases.

"After conferring with the ASWSU and other leadership groups, we felt that this was the fairest way to make the tickets available to our students," said WSU Associate Director of Athletics Pete Isakson, who adds that he anticipates a sellout within minutes. "It's a tough situation for us in that, with an allocation of 800 tickets and an approximate number of students who have a sports pass totaling 11,000, it is unavoidable that a large number of our constituents will be upset at not getting a ticket."

To further make the process accessible to WSU students, Isakson stated the reason for the 12:15 p.m. start time is to ensure that all students can have access to a computer. The last computer lab on campus to open Saturday is at noon.

"By selling the Apple Cup tickets in this manner, every WSU student will have an equal shot at purchasing a ticket," ASWSU President Isaac Wells said. "Each student will have a genuine opportunity to acquire a ticket to the game."

To order tickets, WSU students will click on the tickets link on the athletic website home page. From there, students will click on the "Order your tickets to Cougar events online" link just below the heading: Buy Washington State University Athletic Tickets Online. On that page, students will click on the student tickets link.

WSU students will need to enter their student ID number for access to the sale. Only current student ID numbers will be valid. All sales will be processed with only VISA or MasterCard credit or debit cards.

Tickets will be available for students to pick up starting Wednesday, Oct. 26 at the Athletic Ticket Office inside the Cougar Depot (N. 225 Grand Ave.). Students cannot pick up tickets for other students and must present their student ID at the time of pick up.

The 98th renewal of the annual gridiron rivalry between WSU and Washington is slated for a, coincidentally, 12:15 p.m. kickoff and will be televised live on FSN.
