NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Jessica Smith, a member of the Washington State University spirit squad, has been selected to participate in the Athlon Sports 2007 Sideline Spirit Contest. The contest lasts until the end of the football season and the winner will be featured in the 2008 Athlon Sports College Football annual.

Smith is a junior majoring in pre-med/medical sciences and is hoping to become a surgeon. Besides cheering, Smith also volunteers for Women's Transit and Pullman Regional Hospital.

The contest is sponsored by JVC and the first round of voting will begin on September 1 and run through September 21. Votes can be cast at www.athlonsports.com/spirit. There is no registration required and there is no limit to the number of times a person may vote.
