Volleyball earns NCAA Tournament berth, first for program since 2002 Elite Eight season. Andrew Palileo earns Pac-10 Coach of the Year honors. Soccer advances to second round of NCAA Championship for second time in school history (1994); earns consecutive NCAA appearances for first time in program history; ties school record with 14 wins. Lisa Egami competes at NCAA Cross Country Championships; men's and women's teams compete at NCAA West Regional. Klay Thompson earns consecutive Pac-10 Men's Basketball Player of the Week accolades becoming the first WSU player to garner the honor in back-to-back weeks. Michaela Ahlin competes at NCAA Swimming Championships. Kevin Tucker selected to NCAA Division I Men's Golf Regional Championships for the second straight year. Tucker became the first men's golfer in school history to garner multiple individual postseason selections. Elisabeth Fournier and freshman Liudmila Vasilieva competed at NCAA Women's Tennis Singles Championship. It was the first time in school history two Cougar women made the NCAA singles field in the same season. Rowing earns fifth team selection to NCAA Championships in decade. Finishes 13th.
Baseball earns second straight selection to NCAA Championship. First time since 1987-88 that the Cougars are in the NCAA postseason in consecutive years. Cougars finish season with 37 wins, most since 37 in 1991. Track & Field sends six student-athletes to NCAA Championships. Jeshua Anderson finishes second in 400m hurdles and Marissa Tschida places fourth in javelin. Matt Fanelli named Pac-10 Conference Baseball Scholar-Athlete of the Year marking the third straight year WSU has won the award. WSU hosts NCAA Men's Basketball First and Second Rounds at the Spokane Arena. WSU hosts NCAA Rowing Championships at Lake Natoma, Calif.
