Spokane Week Central

VIDEOS: Day One | Day Two | Day Three

Dear Cougar Fans,

Washington State University Athletics is excited to be hosting the Second Annual Cougar Week in Spokane beginning April 16. The week will culminate with the Crimson and Gray Game presented by Sterling Bank on April 21 at Joe Albi Stadium beginning at 1 p.m. This will be the first opportunity for you to see the new brand of Cougar Football that will be lighting up the scoreboard in Martin Stadium beginning September 8 against Eastern Washington University. Admittance to the game, as well as parking, is being covered by Washington State Athletics and our hope is that fans will show up in record numbers. Please note that the largest spring football game recorded in the State of Washington, as far as we can tell, is 15,000 by the University of Washington in 2010. I am confident that we, as Cougars, can top that number!

Excitement for Cougar Football is at an all-time high, and as such, we anticipate a large turnout for the Crimson and Gray Game. WSU Athletics has worked diligently with the City of Spokane to make sure that we can accommodate an attendance of more than 15,000. Part of these accommodations is allowing our fans that will be bringing their RV's to the game access to the RV lot at Joe Albi Stadium beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 20. RV parking will be located on the west side of Joe Albi Stadium, and you will need to enter the parking lot off of Wellesley Avenue.

The general parking lots for Joe Albi Stadium will open at 8 a.m. on April 21. I would encourage all fans that plan to attend the game to arrive early at the stadium as entrance points into the facility are limited. Please note that all cars and RV's will need to vacate the parking lots at Joe Albi Stadium by 6 p.m. on April 21. We have teamed with the City of Spokane and the Spokane Police Department to make sure the ease of entering and exiting the stadium lots are as efficient as possible. The easiest access points into Joe Albi Stadium are Northwest Boulevard (coming from Downtown and I-90), via Francis Avenue (coming from North Spokane) and coming on Wellesley Avenue (arriving from the east).

Please note that tailgating or consumption of alcohol in public is illegal per Washington State law and RCW 66.44.100 and carries a fine of $103. That should not deter you from arriving early and enjoying the food and beverages which will be available inside Joe Albi Stadium when the gates open at 10 a.m. We have assurances that there will be staffing in place and points of sale to accommodate our expected record setting crowd.

An autograph session with our 2012 Washington State University Football team will take place from 11 a.m. - Noon inside Joe Albi Stadium. Additionally, the "Cougar Kids Zone" will be open once the gates open at 10 a.m. and continue until the conclusion of the Crimson and Gray Game.

We look forward to seeing a record crowd of Cougars converge on Spokane and Joe Albi Stadium for the Crimson and Gray Game. Let's do things the Cougar Way and make this a rewarding experience and partnership with the City of Spokane as well as the merchants of Spokane. For a full listing of the events of Cougar Week in Spokane, please visit WSUCougars.com/spokaneweek. You will also be able to view the parking map of Joe Albi Stadium at that site as well.

I look forward to seeing all of you at the Crimson and Gray Game and announcing a record Cougar crowd for our game!
