Moderator: Coach, thank you for joining us today.
Jen Greeny: Thank you. It's great to be here. So excited that the 2012 season in underway!
Moderator: Okay, let's get started.

Cougar Lance (Olympia): How has recruiting been and how long do you expect it to be for the Cougs to be back in the upper tier of the Pac-12?
Jen Greeny: Cougar Lance, recruiting has been great for the 2013 class. The landscape of recruiting right now is about two years out. When we took the job in 2011 the best 2012 hitters were already committed so we focused on the class of 2013. With that, we will develop the players that are here and build the foundation both on and off the court. The future looks bright.

Keith (Pullman): Pullman's own Stephanie Logan killed it at the Idaho tournament. Do you see her getting good playing time this season?
Jen Greeny: Hi Keith. Stephanie did a great job this past weekend and she will continue to get better and compete for playing time.

Kayla (Pullman): Even though the team went 1-2 at Idaho last weekend, what are the positives and negatives? And what are you looking for the team to do this weekend?
Jen Greeny: Thanks for the question Kayla. It was great to get out and play other competition and we did a nice job against Montana. We were all disappointed with our performance against Pacific but overall they responded very well and played great at times against Idaho. We just made some errors at crucial times. We've been back in the gym working on our weaknesses and expect to come out and do great things this weekend.
Moderator: Coach, can you describe what the atmosphere is like during a match at Bohler Gym?
Jen Greeny: In my opinion, it is hands down one of the best places to play in the country. Our Cougar fans are extremely supportive. When the gym is packed it makes it very tough on our opponents. The electricity the fans can create is unbelievable. Every volleyball player should want that home-court advantage.

Richard (Spokane): How has the team progressed from your first season to this season?
Jen Greeny: Richard, the biggest changes from our first season to this season are actually things that you can't see on the court. The progress we've made in the classroom and also with the culture of the program has made great strides. On the court, I am also very happy with our progress defensively. We have a lot of improving to do still, but we are going in the right direction.

Billy (Seattle): Jaicee Harris was named to the Idaho Tournament team, what do you expect out of her this season?
Jen Greeny: Billy, Jaicee has made a lot of improvements to her all-around game and we will have to look to her a lot more this season. I was really happy with her performance at the Idaho tournament but she still will need to work on her consistency.

Shane (Spokane): I saw that piece on you and your husband Burdete coaching side by side. What's that like?
Jen Greeny: Hey Shane, we're still married so it's working so far! Just kidding! It's actually fantastic because we each have our strengths and know each other extremely well. This is now our sixth year coaching together and it has become very seamless in what we do as a program. He's a fantastic recruiter and knows how to get the most out of our student-athletes. It also works very well with our family. I wouldn't want any other way (except for him to cook more).

Cindy B. (Eugene): I remember the teams with you and Sarah Silvernail and Stephanie Papke. What are your best memories as a player?
Jen Greeny: Cindy, there are so many great memories from playing at Washington State. The best memories would have to be undefeated in Bohler Gym in 1996 and making a run for the Final Four.

Corey (Selah): Hey coach, do you plan on having any future summer camps/clinics around the state?
Jen Greeny: Corey, absolutely! We always have our camps here on campus during July. We also offer traveling camps that our staff puts on around the state. If you know a school that is interested please contact our program. The state of Washington is extremely important and to have a presence around the state is a high priority for us.

Louis (Lewiston): What's Meaghan Ganzer up to now?
Jen Greeny: After having such a successful season in Puerto Rico last spring, Meagan is in Germany and will begin her professional season shortly.

Mela: Aloha Coach, are you considering recruiting Hawaii where there are a lot of talented women volleyball players?
Jen Greeny: Mela, we do have one player right now from Hawaii, Maile Scarpino. We will definitely recruit players from Hawaii, and you're right, there is amazing talent from that great state.
Moderator: Okay, that's all the time we have. Coach, thank you for joining us once again.
Jen Greeny: Thank you to all of the Cougar fans out there for your support. Looking forward to playing in front of you at Bohler Gym this season. Go Cougs!
Moderator: Thank you to all for your question. Join us for our next chat with Director of Athletics Bill Moos, Thursday, Sept. 6 at 9:30 a.m. Go Cougs!
