Cougar Rowing earned its seventh team selection to the NCAA Rowing Championships, Tuesday. The championships will be held Friday, May 31 through Sunday, June 2 at Eagle Creek Park, Ind.

Senior Katie Dick, a member of the varsity eight boat, has has a busy May. She was named Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Sunday and the outstanding senior in the department of philosophy by the College of Arts and Sciences, May 3. Read about Katie's honor and what her plans are post-WSU.

Cougar Rowing Helps Stamp Out Hunger

Washington State University women's rowing teamed up with the National Association of Letter Carriers it collected food for the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, Saturday, May 7 at both Wal-Mart and Dissmores IGA stores of Pullman.

The rowers collected over 850 pounds of items, as well as over $150. Food collected will remain locally at the Pullman Food Bank, a division of Pullman Child Welfare.

Rowing, Analysis of Human Movement

Many of you may have seen the short clip of WSU rower Natasha Ostopovich competing on the erg machines against football player Wade Jacobson. Here is the full video that Ostopovich and fellow rower Kelsey Lounsbury did with classmate Christina Vargas. The video features other WSU student-athletes, including Jacobson, rower Melissa Bogert and men's basketball's Charlie Enquist. The video is a project for their Analysis of Human Movement class. Again, a big thanks to the group for sharing the video.

Cougs Row for a Cause; Find Success Against Gonzaga

The Cougars hosted Gonzaga in their lone home regatta of the Fall, Head of the Snake, Friday at Wawawai Landing on the Snake River. The Cougars wore all pink as part of Washington State Athletics' part in Breast Cancer Awareness month. The water down at the Snake River was ideal for the event, especially after last year's windy event. WSU's first, second and third varsity boats finished ahead of Gonzaga's first varsity eight crew in the main event. We have some video of the Cougs in their pink below.
