Tower Crane Installed

As the below image taken this afternoon by The Cougar Football project webcam shows, the tower crane is in operation for the Football Operations Building construction. The tower crane was installed over the weekend.

The players competing at the NCAA Pullman Regional at Palouse Ridge golf club received a good view of the installation.

NCAA Pullman Regional - Final Round

Terrific duel between Cal's Michael Weaver and USC's Sam Smith for individual medalist honors at the NCAA Pullman Regional. In the end, the two tied for individual honors and Cal won the team competition. A great three days of golf at Palouse Ridge.

NCAA Pullman Regional - Round Two

The winds picked up at Palouse Ridge, Friday, for the second round of the NCAA Pullman Regional and the scores went up with the increase in winds. Thursday's first round featured 29 sub-70 rounds. There were a total of 10 rounds below 70, Friday.

Saturday's final round begins at 7:30 a.m. on hole 10 and 7:50 a.m. on hole one. Forecast is for winds between 10 and 20 mph.

NCAA Pullman Regional - Round One

There was little wind at Palouse Ridge Golf Club, Thursday, for the first round of the NCAA Pullman Regional and the players took advantage. USC's Sam Smith shot a course record 10-under 62 to lead a contingent of 48 players who broke par. Smith nearly aced the par-4 369 yard 15th hole (see picture below) en route to his record round.

Washington State University Commencement Ceremony is Saturday. Throughout this week we are highlighting our senior student-athletes class of 81 student-athletes who, combined, have an average 3.00 GPA in a wide-range of majors. Today is Rowing senior student-athlete Katie Dick. Katie was recognized today as the outstanding senior in the Department of Philosophy. Congratulations Katie! Go Cougs!

"I wouldn't be here without my scholarship. It gave me the opportunity to receive an education. I will be the first member of my family to graduate from college. That is real exciting to me and also for my family. It was a life-changing opportunity to get my degree here. It means everything to me."

"When I first came here I didn't really understand the relationship people had to being a Coug, or why it stayed with them after they graduated. After five years here I definitely understand it now. It's one of those things that becomes part of your life. It sticks with you. This is my school. This is my home. There are so many memories around this campus, Pullman, and my teammates. Throughout this week we are highlighting our senior student-athletes class of 81 student-athletes who, combined, have an average 3.00 GPA in a wide-range of majors. Today's student-athletes are men's basketball senior student-athlete Mike Ladd and volleyball senior Rachel Todorovich.

"It means a lot to be a COUG. This is something that will be a part of my life forever. I matured a lot during my time here and had a lot of good experiences. I'm very thankful for receiving a scholarship. Getting my degree was one of my all-time goals and having a scholarship helped me achieve that goal." - Mike Ladd

"The fact that you come into a community that's based around the university is a good feeling. You go off campus and everyone is a Coug. You're surrounded by people who are working toward the same thing. It's really cool. Being a Coug is something you don't plan on. It's not a community you saw yourself joining, but it's a community and environment that you always see yourself being a part of. It just happens to you. "Receiving a scholarship for golf at WSU meant years and years of hard work from a young age had finally paid off. It also meant that the University was trusting me to represent them in the highest manner both on and off the golf course, and it is a privilege to do this every day. Dog Day at the Park

Jefferson Elementary Coug Pals

50 student-athletes from tennis, men's golf, men's and women's track and field, women's basketball, swimming, volleyball and soccer met with their "Coug Pals" for the first time this morning! The student-athletes and Jefferson Elementary students have been exchanging letters since January. Go Cougs!

2013 Football Poster

The 2013 Football poster has been unveiled. Fans can pick up their poster at Saturday's Crimson and Gray game game at Joe Albi Stadium in Spokane. Kickoff is at 2 p.m.

The poster will be available to order online at WSUCougars.com early next week.
