Past Cougar defensive backs, Husain and Hamza Abdullah are taking the year off from the NFL to make a pilgrimage to Mecca in October. They spent 30 days earlier this summer traveling around the United State to connect with fellow Muslims.

Past Cougar Charlie Sells Passes Away

The Seattle Times reported on September 19, Cougar men's basketball alum, Charlie Sells passed away at his Mill Creek home after a two-year battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome and leukemia. He was 72.

WSJ: Bernard Lagat's Secret to Running

The Wall Street Journal's Scott Cacciola caught up with WSU alum and Olympic medalist Bernard Lagat to find the secrets to his training regiment. What he discovered was surprising: No running. No sit-ups. No heavy lifting, except for a fork.

Lagat competes in the Fifth Avenue Mile Saturday in New York.

Spokesman Review: WSU's Gauta Provides Extra Boost on D-Line

Most know him as the big guy with the big hair in the middle of Washington State's defensive line, a 6-foot 3, 305-pound junior nose tackle who has helped the Cougars to a No. 30 national ranking in run defense through their first three games.
