Football Practice: Another Two-A-Day

| No Comments | No TrackBacks
The Cougars went through its third two-a-day of fall camp Thursday, working out in full pads for two hours in the morning before coming back for a 70 minute practice in helmets and shoulder pads in the afternoon...

...the morning workout started with some special teams, focusing on kickoff coverage and returns...the team then broke off and went through a couple segments with their individual position coaches...the intensity picked up later during the team segment, with the defense dominating most of the segment, putting pressure on the offense, breaking up a number of passes and providing some big hits...safety Deone Bucannon provided the highlight with an interception and big return...running backs Logwone Mitz and Rickey Galvin did turn in a couple nice runs early in the segment...wideout Marquess Wilson continued his daily routine of providing at least one highlight catch every team session, leaping high above a defender to bring in a Connor Halliday pass before coming down in bounds.

The afternoon workout saw the Cougs again focus on special teams in the opening segments before working through individual workouts...the second half of practice saw the lineman square off in their daily 1-on-1 battles on the east field while the rest of the team ran "skelly" on the west field...a number players conducted their 1-on-1 interviews with Root Sports who came by to get some footage for "Cougars All-Access" which debuts Tuesday, Sept. 6...be sure to check out the funny segment which features housemates Gino Simone, Jeff Tuel and Nolan Washington...just one practice tomorrow at 2:30 p.m...GO COUGS!
