Wednesday Recap...

One Cougar is wearing a different uniform and a new number, another is wearing a crimson helmet for the first time this season. Notes from today's practice, and a video with Coach Wulff after the jump:

Redshirt sophomore Dan Spitz has been switching uniforms the past week or so, coming to practice in a white defensive jersey, and switching to a crimson jersey to work with the scout team offense. But this week, Spitz has come out in a crimson jersey, and stayed in it for the entire practice. Spitz is a full-time offensive tackle now, and will wear No. 71 (Coach Wulff talks about this in the video below).

Freshman wide receiver Kristoff Williams participated in today's practice. He was wearing a crimson travel helmet, which means he is on the travel squad and will be heading to Dallas with the team. He didn't go in every session, but he was moving around pretty well after battling turf toe since fall camp.

Senior safety Chima Nwachukwu is day-to-day right now with a strained neck, but in his place freshman Deone Bucannon has stepped into the starter's role. The coaching staff absolutely loves what they have seen from him so far.

In the final session - a one-minute drill - the first-team offense lined up across from the first-team defense. The Cougar D did not allow a first down, and Coach Wulff then blew the whistle to end practice.

He spoke with the media after practice. Here is a video:
