Washington State men's basketball junior Klay Thompson was named the 43rd-best player in the country by Rivals.com recently. Rivals.com, a part of Yahoo Sports, is counting down the top 50 players in the nation for 2010-11. The top player will be unveiled Nov. 7, the day before the season begins. According to the website, " 'Top' doesn't necessarily mean the most pro potential or even the most talent. Rather, it's a combination of what the player has accomplished and how we think the player will do this season. But production does trump potential." Check it out HERE.
Thompson continues to rack up preseason honors as he enters his third season with the Cougars as the team's 29th career scorer with 1,023 career points. If Thompson scores what he scored last season (19.6 points per game), he can become the school's third-best all-time leading scorer by the end of the season (1632 points).
