Gurveen Clair Diary Day Two

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

Washington State soccer freshman goalkeeper Gurveen Clair is currently training with the Canadian National Team.

By Gurveen Clair (Day Two)

Today started off pretty well. We had squat jump and long jump testing. Hopefully my results have improved since last camp.  Our goalkeeper coach did a light session with us afterwards working on handling and technique. It wasn't very strenuous, but oh boy did it every make you sweat.

Read more about Gurveen's day after the jump.

We pretty much do laundry twice a day, once after each session. Yeah, it's that hot. We don't get to travel around much yet because we have two sessions a day, but on our days off we supposedly are going to downtown Rome! That definitely gives me something to look forward to.

Our lunch was the same as yesterday, as it will be the entire time we're eating at the hotel (it is boring, but at the same time the food is good so can't complain too much). Our second session was more tactical; when and where to move the ball from defense to strikers. We do a lot of agility work as well with poles and rope. It's not too hard, but the different patterns they have us do can get a little confusing, especially when you're trying to do them at a high speed. Tomorrow will be pretty similar, body composition testing in the morning, followed by two sessions. I'll try and remember to take some pictures of this hotel because it is absolutely gorgeous on the outside. The facilities like the pool and gym are nicely kept; the field we train on is just outside my window. The inside is really nice too; just the beds are pretty small, quite a bit smaller than the dorm room beds! The one most annoying thing I find however, is the amount of fruit flies and little tiny bugs that are absolutely everywhere! It's not infested or anything, but when you whack one away, it comes back three seconds later, and stays.

GO COUGS!!

Ciao J
