The Cougars made it as much of a game environment as they could, with crowd noise, both game and play clocks, officials...the whole shebang. The starting defensive line did sit out, however.
If you look at the quarterback numbers, and then factor in the extremely windy conditions, both Jeff and Marshall looked good. As a matter of fact, most of Jeff's incomplete passes weren't off target throws, they were throwaways, and all good decisions.
Casey Locker was one of two Cougars with four tackles - Darren Markle was the other - but his huge hit to cause an incompletion didn't make it into our stat book.
The highlight of the evening probably belonged to the kickers. Nico Grasu went 4-of-5, with makes from 32, 46, 55 and 58. The last two numbers are not typos...55- and 58-yard field goals. Freshman Andrew Furney also made two from 50-plus, hitting 50- and 51-yard attempts.

The Cougars hit the practice field again tomorrow at 4 p.m.
