FOOTBALL: Practice No. 20 Recap...

| No Comments | No TrackBacks
Technically, Fall Camp is over. School started, so the "camp" portion of practices is behind us. The Cougars still have two weeks of practice remaining until the season-opener, and today marked the first day of in-school practices.

Before we get to today's recap, I have a couple things to show you. Read on after the jump...

Check out the video below featuring WSU student-athletes participating in the 2010 National Lentil Festival in downtown Pullman:

On to practice notes...

Once school starts, that also means that teams can expand their rosters from the initial 105 players participating in Fall Camp, so there were a number of new faces on the field today.

I missed portions of practice due to a couple meetings, but from what I saw, it was physical and guys were making plays. With about 20 minutes to go, the team headed to Martin Stadium to scrimmage.

Redshirt senior defensive end Kevin Kooyman recovered a fumble in the end zone for a defensive touchdown and redshirt freshman safety Casey Locker and redshirt freshman linebacker Darren Markle each had interceptions.

Redshirt sophomore cornerback Daniel Simmons is back at practice. The way he played this afternoon, he may as well have flown a blimp over Pullman making the announcement. He was all over the field, and he looked ready to play now.

For today's interviews, we have a video with Coach Wulff:

And a video with Daniel Simmons:

The Cougs are back on the field tomorrow at 4 p.m.
