More from today's practice after the jump:
We will start with the addition - there is another goalpost on WSU's practice field, which now gives the Cougars one at each end. I can post a picture later if you guys would like to see it, but my thought was that if you have seen one, you've seen them all.
Sophomore quarterback Jeff Tuel was lighting up the hypothetical Rogers Field scoreboard this afternoon, hitting redshirt senior wide receiver Jeffrey Solomon and sixth-year senior tight end Zach Tatman for touchdowns during skelly. Solomon had an amazing diving grab for his score, and Tatman was wide open and walked in for his.
In a situational scrimmage session, Tuel hit Solomon and senior wide receiver Daniel Blackledge for back-to-back big gains.
The second-team defense recorded back-to-back interceptions in the same scrimmage session. Freshman safety Deone Bucannon tipped a pass, and Myron Beck hauled it in for the pick, and then redshirt freshman safety Casey Locker made it two-straight.
After notching a 40-yard touchdown run this morning, Carl Winston scored on a 20-yarder in the afternoon session. A pretty nice day for the sophomore running back to say the least.
Freshman wide receiver Marquess Wilson had another highlight reel catch. He got tangled up with a wide receiver, and as he was falling down he caught the ball one handed with the help of the defender's helmet. I've seen a couple guys make that play in camp now.
Here are a couple interviews with Coach Wulff and Brandon Rankin:
The Cougars return to the practice field tomorrow at 2 p.m.
