I missed the first 20-30 minutes of practice because I was in Martin Stadium checking out the new starting line-up introductions on the video board. I was very, very, very impressed. Hopefully come Montana State, you all are as well.
More from practice after the jump:
Redshirt junior defensive tackle Brandon Rankin was absolutely disruptive in this morning's inside run drill - where the offense and defense line up, but it is run-only. Rankin and redshirt junior linebacker Alex Hoffman-Ellis combined to force a fumble.
The defense stepped up again later when Coach Wulff declared it fourth and goal from the one, and Hoffman-Ellis and junior linebacker Mike Ledgerwood stuffed the running back, clinching the "win."
There were some offensive fireworks, however. Sophomore running back Carl Winston ripped off a 40-yard touchdown run for the second-team offense, and James Montgomery capped a drive for the first unit with a four-yard touchdown.
Here is a highlight video from this morning:
I will have more after today's second session, which starts at 3:30 p.m.

Is there any chance that the starting lineup video will be available to check out before the first game? Maybe on Youtube
