A Sports Nutritionist educates Student-Athletes on not only basic nutrient needs, but deepens teams' understanding of their unique needs through focused, team education. Our Sports Nutritionist, Lindsay Brown, also spends time working with athletes individually. Lindsay is also a member of the Supplement Approval Committee which serves to evaluate products before use by WSU Student-Athletes to ensure safety, efficacy and NCAA compliance.

Certification for Athletic Training requires the successful completion of a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Athletic Training from an institution that has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education and successful completion of the national exam given by the Board of Certification. Washington State University has an accredited Athletic Training program.

The Athletic Training Program uses a competency based approach both in the classroom and clinical settings. Educational content is based on cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skill), and affective (professional behaviors) competencies and clinical proficiencies. If you are interested in Athletic Training as a profession the academic program at WSU might be what you have been looking for!
