Pac-12 All-Academic Baseball Honors Announced

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – Washington State seniors Jason Monda and Collin Slaybaugh were named to the 2014 Pac-12 Conference Baseball All-Academic First Team, Monday.

The duo’s selection highlighted four Cougars earning awards. Sophomore Matt Mendenhall was selected to the second team and junior Sam Triece received honorable mention.

Monda was a two-way player for Washington State, but spent the majority of his time on the mound. He owns a 3.47 GPA as zoology major. Slaybaugh was a catcher/outfielder who sports a 4.00 GPA in kinesiology. Earlier this year, he was named to the Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team.

Mendenhall is a first baseman with a 3.43 GPA and an undeclared major. Triece is a right-handed pitcher with a 3.23 GPA in criminal justice.
