PULLMAN, Wash. -- - The Palouse region's hot weather continues to dictate Washington State University's football practice schedule, including a change in Wednesday's scrimmage, according to head coach Mike Price.

The Cougars are now slated for a 7:30 p.m. scrimmage Wednesday, Aug. 15, in Martin Stadium. Originally the workout had been scheduled in the afternoon.

"With the afternoon temperatures well over 90, we have moved all of our afternoon workouts to the evening and the players have responded very well," Price commented. "They are more alert and have not been concerned with the high temperatures. If we were practicing in the afternoon, I think they would be more worried about how hot they are than about what we are trying to accomplish. In the evening they are fresh and the coaches have their attention."

Price indicated he would probably stay with the evening workout as long as the temperatures remain well into the 90's, although practice schedules are currently being changed on a day-to-day basis.
