PULLMAN, Wash. --- Washington State offensive lineman Joey Hollenbeck, wide receiver Nakoa McElrath and strong safety Billy Newman latched on to three National Football League clubs via free agency Monday.

Hollenbeck, a starter on both the offensive and defensive line during his Cougar career, was signed by the St. Louis Rams. The Enumclaw, Wash., native earned Pac-10 honorable mention in 2001.

Newman, who finished with 325 tackles and nine interceptions in four seasons, will join the Tennessee Titans. Newman, a product of Santa Margarita High, was a team captain and honorable mention All-Pac-10 last season.

McElrath broke the WSU records for receptions (72) and receiving yards (1,163) in a season last year, and signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars Monday. McElrath recorded 14 touchdowns in two seasons on the Palouse after transferring from Palomar Community College in California.
