PULLMAN, Wash. --- Fresh off a 33-27 win over Purdue in the Sun Bowl, Washington State seniors Nakoa McElrath, Billy Newman, and Lamont Thompson will compete in the 77th East-West Shrine Game Jan. 12 in San Francisco.

All three will suit up for the West squad, which will be coached by Oregon's Mike Bellotti and feature the Ducks' quarterback Joey Harrington, Texas Tech running back Ricky Williams, and quarterback Randy Fasani of Stanford. Bill Walsh is the honorary coach for the West.

Illinois' Ron Turner is the head coach for the East squad. Big Ten quarterbacks Kurt Kittner of Illinois and Antwaan Randle El of Indiana headline the list of players for the East.

Players arrived in the Bay Area Saturday and were treated to a tour of Alcatraz and signed autographs and met with the public at Pier 39. Activities will continue throughout the week, including a trip to the Shriners Hospital of Northern California, NFL weigh-ins and workouts on Wednesday, and a video game tournament sponsored by EA Sports.

The game, which bill itself as "Football's Finest Hour," will be played at Pacific Bell Park, home of the San Francisco Giants, and broadcast by ESPN2 live at 10:30 a.m. PST.
