Men's Basketball Falls to Trojans in Overtime, 75-69

Cougars drop third overtime game of the season.

LOS ANGELES - Southern California converted 10 of 14 free throws in the final 67 seconds of overtime to beat Washington State 75-69 in front of 2,681 at the Sports Arena.

The Cougars (8-12 overall, 1-8 Pacific-10), who shot 37 percent from the field, lost their third overtime game of the season. WSU has been swept in 10 of the last 11 Pac-10 road trips to Los Angeles.

Reserve Kevin Augustine and freshman starter Greg Lakey paced the Trojans (7-12 overall, 3-6 Pacific-10) with 15 and 14 points, respectively. Carlos Daniel paced all players with 22 points, 12 rebounds and added three blocks.

WSU led at the half 25-23, but fell behind by as many as eight points, 53-45, after three straight free throws by Augustine. The Cougars then used an 11-3 run over the final 6:23 to tie the game at 56-56. WSU had three cracks to break the tie with 11 seconds left in regulation, but couldn't.

USC shot just 36.5 percent from the field as the Cougars outrebounded the Trojans 49-43.
