WSU TAKES ON PAC-10 FOES AT OREGON: The next action for Washington State University's men's golf team will be the Pacific-10 Conference Championships April 23-25. The University of Oregon will host the three-day, 72-hole tournament at the Eugene Country Club. Golfers from all 10 pac-10 schools will challenge the par-72, 7,033-yard course.

WSU ENTRANTS: Competing for WSU in the upcoming Pacific-10 Conference tournament will be Chris Collins, Nick Grigsby, Austin Hurt, Jordan Madison, Jordan Mason and Kevin Tucker.

WSU FROSH AMONG THE BEST: Washington State University's freshmen class is currently ranked 23rd nationally by Golfstat and head coach Walt Williams believes his first-year players will move up in the rankings later this month...the class includes Xavier Dailly, Nick Grigsby, Austin Hurt and Kevin Tucker...Grigsby, Hurt and Tucker have played in enough tourneys to qualify as a group in the rankings.

WSU AT RECENT PAC-10 TOURNEYS: WSU has placed ninth at each os the last three Pac-10 Championships...current Cougars in the 2006 tournament included Kevin Chen (tie-28th), Jordan Madison (tie-41st), Jordan Mason (tie-44th), Chris Collins (tie-53rd) and Chad Carlson (60th)...current Cougars in the 2005 Pac-10 tournament included Kevin Chen (tie-25th), Jordan Mason (tie-28th), Chris Collins (tie 45th) and Jordan Madison (tie-54th)...in 2004 three current Cougars competed - Jordan Madison (tie-42nd), Kevin Chen (tie-51st), Chad Carlson (60th).

WSU COUGAR MEN'S GOLF SCHEDULES

Feb. 12-13 Sunbrook Invitational, St. George, Utah (Host: S. Utah) The Cougar men finished tied for sixth with a one-over par 577...Jordan Madison led WSU and tied for fourth with a -6 total of 138.

Feb. 26-26 Inland Cup, Clarkston, Wash. (Host: WSU) Chris Collins shot a final round 65 to finish third in the non-team scoring event...Collins shot 75-65=140, one stroke behind the co-leaders.

March 5-6 North Ranch Invitational, Los Angeles (Host: USC) WSU lost Jordan Mason early in the second round with a sprained ankle...Kevin Tucker led WSU with a 228 score and tied for 58th.

March 16-17 Border Olympics, Houston, Texas (Host: U. Houston) Freshman Austin Hurt paced WSU with a 220 score, finishing tie-32nd...Jordan Madison had WSU's best round, a 70 for the opening round...WSU finished 12th.

March 26-27 Duck Invitational, Eugene, Ore. (Host: Univ. Oregon) WSU finished 11th with a three-round score of 907...Chris Collins shot rounds of 73, 74 and 80 to lead WSU...he finished tied for 38th...Nick Grigsby had WSU's best round, a 72 for the second 18. April 2-3 Pacific Coast Intercollegiate, Solvang, Calif. (Host: UCSB) Jordan Madison shot a 204 (-12) to finish tied for third and WSU finished sixth with a 846 score...Austin Hurt was -8 and finished 12th.

April 14-15 U. S. Intercollegiate, Stanford, Calif. (Host: Stanford) WSU finished ninth with a 875 score, just four strokes out of seventh in the strong men's field...Chris Collins paced WSU with a plus-seven 217, including rounds of 70 and 71...Jordan Madison also shot a 70 and Austin Hurt shot an opening round 71.
