Washington State vs. Washington – Feb. 27, 2010 – Pullman, Wash. (Friel Court)

Final Score: UW 59, WSU 52

Washington State Cougars

WSU Head Coach Ken Bone
On the game…
“I felt we had enough energy to get the job done, there were a few possessions that could have gone either way and Washington made plays down the stretch and we didn’t. I felt we at least had just as much energy as they had right down to the last second.”

“We didn’t look great tonight. We didn’t make shots, we didn’t make our three point shots…we had some good looks but Washington deserves some credit because they did a nice job defensively.”

WSU Guard Klay Thompson
On the difference in the second half…
“We came out with a purpose on offense instead of being so stagnant in the first half. It helped being aggressive on defense and playing as a team.”

Nikola Koprivica
On his senior day…
“I wanted to thank everyone for the support the four years, through the rough years, and to the people who were behind me and I wanted to say I appreciate their help”

“It’s just another game, we came out and wanted to win. We came out a little stagnant and they took advantage of that. We battled back and a couple balls went their way instead of our way so it was a pretty close game and I think anybody could have won it.”

On guarding Quincy Pondexter…
“Quincy is a great player and he was my responsibility tonight, I had to guard him. It was senior day, so I didn’t want to let him go off and I think I did a pretty good job most of the game. It was a great team effort and I think we kind of slowed him down and gave us a chance to win.”

“He presents a great challenge, he’s one of the guys who’s a candidate to be the Pac-10 player of the year, so every time you have to guard someone like that you want to prove to yourself you can guard him. I think myself and the entire team did a great job with that.”

Washington Huskies
Washington Forward Matthew Bryan Amaning On his play...
“I’ve been playing well recently and we’ve been doing the same thing in practice…When you play hard things start to go your way.

On the team lately…
“As the season goes on, the team started to gel together more and more, and as of late it’s starting to show in our results.”
