WAWAWAI LANDING, Wash. - The Washington State women's novice rowing team will have to wait two weeks to take on Gonzaga after unreliable water conditions canceled racing that was scheduled for today on the Snake River.
The relatively calm water at 7 a.m. this morning turned to white caps as boats were launched at 8:30 a.m. Both novice eight teams for WSU and Gonzaga attempted warm-ups until a rigger on a Gonzaga boat broke and racing was officially canceled.
The regatta is not expected to be rescheduled. The Cougs are off until Nov. 14 when they meet the Washington, California, Stanford, Oregon State, Gonzaga, and UC Davis at the Head of the Lake in Seattle.
