What's Happening This Week: The Washington State University women's rowing squad takes on Gonzaga, Friday, Oct. 31 at 3:00 p.m. in a scrimmage at the Wawawai Landing...WSU's varsity eight, second varsity eight, third varsity eight and novice team will all be racing...only Gonzaga's varsity eight boat will be racing... the varsity eight squad will be rowing in a five kilometer race while the novice crews will be rowing in four separate shorter races...on the men's side, both Gonzaga and WSU's varsity and novice boats will be competing.

What Happened Last Race: The Cougar rowing team opened up their fall season against Gonzaga Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Head of Spokane on the Spokane River with a strong showing...the team won three out of five races with the second varsity eight posting the best time of the day...in addition, both novice boats had a solid opening day...the varsity eight boat lost to Gonzaga's by a mere five seconds and looks to improve at this Friday's scrimmage.

Directions to Washington State's Boathouse: From Highway 195 (north or south), turn west on Wawawai Road at the blinking yellow light...travel on Wawawai Road for 10 miles...the road will end at a stop sign...turn right and drive down into the canyon...six miles at the bottom of the canyon...go past the county park on the right and over the railroad tracks the boathouse is a cinderblock building on the right park on the side of the road or in the parking lot south of the boathouse.
