PULLMAN - Washington State's Katie Appleton, Kezia Kelly and Katie Calderwood each garnered recognition on the 2009 Pacific-10 Conference Women's Basketball All-Academic Teams, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced recently.
Appleton, a senior from Big Bear Lake, Calif., and Kelly, a sophomore from Auckland, New Zealand, were each named to the second team. Calderwood, a sophomore from Broomfield, Colo., was named honorable mention.
Appleton has been named to the Pac-10 All-Academic list in each of the last three seasons, garnering honorable mention accolades on the previous two occurrences. She currently boasts a 3.41 grade-point-average, and is a movement studies major.
Kelly is a psychology major with a 3.65 GPA. She and Calderwood each received their first Pac-10 All-Academic accolades.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
