PULLMAN, Wash. -- Four men's basketball players signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Cougars next fall, Washington State Head Coach Dick Bennett announced Wednesday

The newest quartet of Cougars includes Robbie Cowgill (6-9, 190, F/C), Daven Harmeling (6-7, 190, F), Chris Henry (6-10, 257, C), and Derrick Low (6-1, G).

"This is a very important step in the direction we needed to go with our program" Bennett said. "These are four outstanding players and students."

Low averaged 12.9 points during the regular season and 16.7 points in the state tournament last season while leading Iolani High School to its second straight Hawai'i state title. He is a two-time Hawai'i State Player of the Year and three-time Interscholastic League of Honolulu Player of the Year.

Henry is from Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, Calif. He averaged 7.9 points and 4.6 rebounds last season and helped the Monarchs capture their second state title in the past three years.

Cowgill from Westwood High School in Austin, Texas and Harmeling from Fruita Monument High School in Fruita, Colo., round out Bennett's first full recruiting class.

"Our assistant coaches deserve a world of credit in landing this recruiting class," Bennett said. "Each player comes from a loving family and a solid high school program with outstanding leadership.
