PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University football coach Mike Price confirmed today senior offensive tackle Reed Raymond will be lost for the rest of the season following a knee injury sustained yesterday in the Cougars' win over California.
"It is a tragic blow to Reed and to us," Price said. "He has been a great Cougar for us."
Raymond was injured on a Cougar scoring play in the third quarter of WSU's 21-17 win at California. Preliminary reports indicated a torn medial collateral ligament of the left knee. Price said Raymond would have an MRI Monday
Price also said it would be mid-week before the status of starters James Price (hand), Melvin Simmons (neck) and Deon Burnett (knee) would be known. WSU kicker Nick Lambert is not expected to return for at least another week because of a pulled quad muscle.
