Chris Collins Sits In Top 10 in NW Collegiate Classic

Corvallis, Ore. - At the end of two rounds in the NW Collegiate Classic the Washington State Cougars sit in a tie for seventh place. Senior Chris Collins had a great day finishing in tenth place to lead the cougars in scoring. Collins shot a 3-over 145 putting him in position to strike on day two.

As a team the Cougars shot a 22-over 598 collectively putting them in a tie with the University of San Diego. The Cougars find themselves ahead of both Charleston and Portland after two rounds of play.

Freshman Nick Grigsby carried momentum from the Opus NW Husky Invitational where he shot a third round 67 that moved him into the top 25 and gave him a share of the top finish for a WSU golfer with Chris Collins. Grigsby finished the first day of the NW Collegiate Classic in a tie for 25. Grigsby shot a 5-over 149 to be WSU's second top scorer.

The final round of the NW Collegiate Classic tees off at 7:45 am Tuesday.
