INJURED COUGARS: Washington State has had nine starters miss at least one match because of injury this season...overall, Cougars have missed 21 starts due to injury through eight matches...among returnees, only defenders Ali Fenter and Ashley Johnson have started every match...Fenter, a junior, has started every match in her career...Johnson, a senior, has started each match during the last three seasons...freshman Katie Turney has started each match as midfielder/forward in place of injured student-athletes.
SERIES WITH HAWAI'I: Washington State leads 2-0-0...Cougars won 2-0 in Albuquerque, Sept. 19, 1994 with Dana DePonzi and Tari Beck scoring in the first half...Kris Young made seven saves to earn the shutout...Washington State won 3-0 at home, Oct. 27, 1995 on the strength of second half goals by Jody Payne, Kimberly Schelpf and Beck...Jessica Glazer made four saves and earned the shutout.

BERLINGO AND CASTAIN NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED: Washington State senior goalkeeper Meghan Berlingo and freshman forward Micaela Castain both received a national ranking by TopDrawerSoccer.com this month...Berlingo was the top goalkeeper in the Pac-10 and the 10th-best keeper overall among upperclassmen...Castain was listed at No. 48 on the site's top 100 freshman watch list.
