PULLMAN, Wash. - The Washington State men's basketball team continues to climb in the national rankings. The Cougars moved to 10th in the Associated Press national poll and 11th in ESPN/USA Today rankings announced Monday. WSU was 14th in both polls last week.

It marks the first time in school history the Cougars (21-4, 10-3 Pacific-10) has been ranked in the top 10 nationally.

"It's great to be ranked in the top 10, but our main focus right now is trying to improve our play for the stretch run," Cougar Head Coach Tony Bennett said.

Washington State has appeared in the AP poll each of the last four weeks, the longest stretch in school history. The Cougars have won four straight games as a ranked team, also the longest streak in WSU history.

The Cougars travel to play arch-rival Washington at 7 p.m., Wednesday.
