Men's Golf Heads to Falcon Invitational

What's Happening This Week: The Washington State men's golf team will travel to Colorado Springs, Colo., to play in the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational at the U.S. Air Force Academy...the 54-hole event will be held at the 7,301-yard, par-72 Eisenhower Golf Club...first-round tee times begin Saturday, Sept.19 at 8:15 a.m.

The Field: The 18-school field will include Air Force, Colorado, Colorado State,Denver, Nevada, Northern Colorado, Northern Iowa, San Diego, Southern Utah, UAB, UCCS, UNLV, Utah, Utah State, Utah Valley, Washington State, Weber State and Wyoming.

Traveling for WSU: This week's Cougar squad will consist of seniors Austin Hurt and Kevin Tucker, junior Nick Ellis, sophomore Trent Sanders and freshman Hank Frame.

Last Time Out: The men's team is coming off a victory at their first inaugural home tournament at Palouse Ridge...Tucker led the Cougars, earning co-champion honors and carding a career-low round of 66 (-6)...Frame and Hurt tallied their first top-25 finishes of the season, placing 15th and 21st, respectively.

Last Year at This Event: WSU finished third at the tournament last year and were led by Tucker and current senior Nick Grigsby, who both earned top-10 finishes...Hurt finished in a tie for 17th coming in at 2-over par for the tournament.
