This Week: The Washington State women's basketball team (3-6) will face Northwestern State (4-4) Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. at Beasley Coliseum.

Last Time Out: The Cougars hosted Montana in a rare appearance at Bohler Gym Friday, Dec. 8...it was the first game played in Bohler since 1996...Dani Montgomery led all Cougar scorers with 11 points...Kate Benz posted a season-high 12 rebounds...WSU outrebounded Montana 53-30.

Scouting Northwestern State: The Lady Demons come to Pullman after defeating Louisiana State-Shreveport 79-57 Saturday, Dec. 9...the win marked the fourth straight home victory for Northwestern State...junior Ashli Barnum leads NSU and the Southland Conference in rebounds (9.3 rpg) and averages 15.0 points per game...Tena Matthews follows with a 13.6 scoring average...the Lady Demons top the Southland Conference in steals with a 14.13 average...Barnum also leads the conference in blocked shots (2.00 blocks per game) and field goal percentage (.515)...Northwestern State will face the Eastern Washington Eagles Friday in Cheney.

The Series: Sunday's game marks only the second meeting all-time between the Cougars and the Lady Demons...Northwestern State visited Pullman Dec. 5, 1997...Cougars took a 90-63 win over the Lady Demons...the 27-point victory marked the third largest margin of victory in WSU women's basketball history.

Did You Know: The Cougars are 2-2 all-time against teams from Louisiana...the last game played between WSU and a university in the state of Louisiana was Nov. 29, 2002...Cougars took on No. 3 Louisiana State University in the Florida International/Herald Thanksgiving Classic in Miami, Fla...the Cougars lost 87-50.

Benz's Boards: Senior Kate Benz added a season-high 12 rebounds to her career total Friday against Montana...her career rebound mark now stands at 758...Benz moved past Jenni Ruff's total of 727 Nov. 30 against Montana State and sits in sole possession of third place on the WSU career rebounds list...Benz now eyes Janet Kusler who is second on the all-time list with 853 rebounds...she is also the active career leader in rebounds in the Pac-10.
