Cougars Find Going Tough at Bite Pacific Coast Intercollegiate

LOMPOC, Calif. - Washington State's inexperience showed up again at the Bite Pacific Coast Intercollegiate held at the LaPurisima Golf Course, a par 72, 7,105 yard course Tuesday.

After wrapping up the first 36 holes in the top half of the field, the Cougars finished in 15th place in a tournament consisting of teams strictly west of the Rockies. The team's best round came in the second with a 12-over 300. The Cougars finished with a three round total of 919.

Senior Ryan Camp just missed another top 25 finish by two strokes and finished tied for 30th with a 226 (+10). Sophomore Chad Carlson fired the team's best score of the third round with a 1-over 73 and improved his position by 18 spots from day one to tie for 32nd place. Freshman Kevin Chen also finished in the top half of the field tied for 39th. Redshirt freshman Jordan Madison finished in a 74th place tie and sophomore Paul Knue rounded out the squad tied for 90th.

The Cougars will return to action April 17 for their last tune up before the Pacific-10 Championships at the U.S. Intercollegiate.
