PULLMAN, Wash. - The Washington State Cougars fell to No 21 Nebraska 87-79 in non-conference women's basketball action Monday at Beasley Coliseum.

Carly Noyes led WSU with 19 points on 9-of-14 shooting. Ireti Amojo added 13 while Hana Potter added 10. Catheryn Redmon led four Huskers in double figures with 17 points.

In a back and forth affair that featured 15 lead changes and 14 ties, including 13 lead changes and nine ties in the first half alone, Nebraska seemed to take control by taking a 79-69 with 6:18 remaining.

However, WSU fought back and pulled to within 81-79 on a Noyes layup with 1:10 remaining. But Nebraska scored the game's final six point to withstand WSU's challenge and extend its regular season winning streak to 35 games.

Nebraska, which was a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament last year, held a slim 44-42 at the half as both teams traded the lead throughout the opening 20 minutes.

The trend of trading leads continued in the opening stages of the second half and WSU used a 7-0 run, capped by a Rosie Tarnowski 3-pointer, to take a 61-57 lead at the 12:25 mark.

For the game, WSU committed a season-low 17 turnovers and forced Nebraska into 24 of its own. The Cougars shot 35-of-79 (44.3 percent) from the field while Nebraska was shot 50 percent for the game (34-of-68).

WSU returns to action, Friday, Nov. 26 vs. No. 14 North Carolina at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Rainbow Wahine Showdown in Honolulu, Hawai'i. Tip is at 2:15 Pacific.
