Pullman, Wash. - What's Happening This Week: The Washington State University women's rowing squad finishes up its fall season at the Head of the Lake Regatta, which is hosted by the University of Washington, Sunday, Nov. 14, at Montlake Cut, Seattle... the race is 4.7 kilometers...the race begins at the Canoe House on Lake Washington, travels through Portage Bay, through the Montlake Cut, onto Lake Union and finishes 250 meters into the Lake Washington Ship Canal.

Lineups for Head of the Lake Regatta:

Cougar Varsity Eight Squad: May Lundberg (coxswain), Jody Thomas, Amber McKnight, Casey Long, Sarah Waterfield, Angela Manson, Becca Gibson, Kasia Bloch, Lori Maricle (bow)

Cougar Second Varsity Eight Squad: Kelly O'Brien, Catherine Shirley, Kim Brehrends, Lina Brazinskaite, Laura Griffin, Willow English, Sarah Lende, Fritha Strand-Davern, Catherine Watt

Cougar Third Varsity Eight Squad: Vanessa Seratore (coxswain), Amy Antisdel, Lexie Conley, Jessica Matejik, Lindsay Radford, Lindsay Black, Kristin Baunsgard, Kristy Logan and Nikki Schmitz

WSU Head Coach Jane LaRiviere on Head of the Lake Regatta: "Being our final race before our traditional racing season, it will be our last chance to race against Pac-10 schools before the spring. We plan on going to Seattle and enjoying ourselves."

What Happened Last Week: The Cougars last competed Oct. 18 when they hosted Gonzaga for the Head of the Snake...in the annual regatta, the WSU varsity eight and second varsity eight were both victorious against the Bulldogs...the varsity eight crew defeated the Bulldogs for the fourth time this fall, finishing the 5,000 meter race in a time of 17:49.9, 54 seconds before the Zags, 18:43.6...the second varsity eight crew completed the race in a time of 18:13.9, bettering the time of Gonzaga, 19:08.1...in the other events, two WSU varsity four crews faced off against each other...in the novice races, Gonzaga finished one-two, with the two WSU squads coming in third and fourth...also competing in the regatta was the Gonzaga varsity men's rowing squad as well as the WSU men's club rowing team...in the men's events, the Bulldogs swept the Cougars and earned first place finishes in the varsity eight, varsity four and novice events.

Directions to Head of the Lake: From 520 Westbound (toward Seattle) exit Montlake Boulevard. Turn Right (north). Follow Montlake past the stadium, past Hec Ed Pavillion. Just past cement overpass to Hec Ed, take second drive to right toward Parking Lot and Boathouse From I-5, take Eastbound 520, exit Montlake Blvd. Turn left at stop light Follow Montlake past the stadium, past Hec Ed Pavillion. Just past cement overpass to Hec Ed, take second drive to right toward Parking Lot and Boathouse It's the third right from overpass, the first two rights are a parking area for the ticket office.
